The Limited Edition '50s Stratocaster takes us back to an era when diners, cars with fins, and rock 'n' roll ruled the world. With its Soft "V" maple neck, vintage frets, simple single-ply pickguard, and aged plastic parts, the Limited Edition '50s Strat has retro written all over it. Of note are a trio of American Vintage '56 pickups with staggered Alnico pole pieces and aged covers, which bring you the look and sound of a watershed year in Fender's history, along with a vintage-style synchronized tremolo for classic performance. Deluxe gold hardware and a Pro series tweed case complete the package.
By far, 1956 was a big year for the Stratocaster. Fender switched from ash to lightweight alder bodies (with the exception of blonde-finished instruments), giving it the balanced tone we know and love. The baseball bat "U" neck common to early models was replaced with a Soft "V" — now one of the most popular Strat necks of all time.
This Strat packs a trio of American Vintage '56 single-coil pickups specially wound to period-correct specs and tone. A modern 5-way blade yields "in between" sound that wasn't legitimately possible in 1956.
