The Fender Stratocaster is considered by many guitarists, including many of us at Music Experience, to be the classic solidbody electric guitar. Introduced in 1954, the Strat has flaunted its svelte body curves, tonal dexterity, and expressive vibrato in the capable hands of guitarists cross-genre. At once a working musician's axe and cultural icon, the Fender Player Series Stratocaster HSS takes the grand tradition into the future with a fast-action 22-fret maple neck, vibrant vintage-inspired finishes, and a versatile trio of humbucker and single-coil Alnico pickups to cover wide swaths of contemporary and classic music.
Though the original Stratocaster was first introduced more than 60 years ago, it's unquestionably more popular now than ever. The Player Series Stratocaster HSS combines the guitar's sleek, elegant lines with the perfect blend of vintage and modern features. You start with the classic comfort-contoured alder body, finished in gloss polyester and crowned with a 3-ply parchment pickguard, and add to it a trio of Player Series Alnico pickups and a fast, satin-backed, modern-playing maple neck.
The Player Series Strat HSS is equipped for a wide range of musical styles, from modern high gain to classic surf and country. Neck and middle Alnico V single-coils deliver all the quack, spank, and sparkle you expect from a Strat. Behind them, a moderate-gain Alnico II humbucker adds chunk to rhythms and heat to leads.
In keeping with contemporary player preferences, the Player Series Stratocaster HSS sports a comfortable modern C-shaped maple neck and a 9.5"-radius fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets. The neck is finished with a smooth satin polyurethane for a sleek, fast feel. With its sleek body contours and highly playable neck, it's no wonder that the Fender Stratocaster has remained one of the most popular guitars on the planet for decades.
The inspiring sound of a Stratocaster is one of the foundations of Fender. Featuring this classic sound—bell-like high end, punchy mids and robust low end, combined with crystal-clear articulation—the sonically flexible Player Stratocaster HSS is packed with authentic Fender feel and style. It’s ready to serve your musical vision, it’s versatile enough to handle any style of music and it’s the perfect platform for creating your own sound.
Designed for authentic Fender tone—with a bit of an edge—our Player Series pickups are crisp and articulate, a modern tweak of our classic sound.
This Stratocaster features a two-point tremolo bridge for smooth, superior tremolo action.
Breaking with tradition, we added a dedicated tone control for the bridge pickup, giving you more control over your sound in pickup positions one and two.
Adding another fret extends the range, while the “Modern C”-shaped neck profile is comfortable for almost any playing style.
The Player Stratocaster model’s sleek curves are hand-shaped to original specifications.
Each Player Stratocaster includes an “F”-stamped neck plate, leaving no doubt as to the instrument’s pedigree.
