The Focusrite Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic expands your setup with eight additional 2nd-generation Scarlett mic preamps, and per-channel analog compression for control over your dynamics. Also onboard is Focusrite's high-res 24-bit/192kHz AD/DA conversion. OctoPre Dynamic gives you eight line outputs to feed your analog rig, along with ADAT optical I/O to expand any ADAT-equipped interface. OctoPre Dynamic's pristine Focusrite preamps, high-quality conversion, and expansion capabilities make it the ideal way to grow your studio.
The Focusrite Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic is equipped with eight vibrant, 2nd generation Focusrite mic/line preamps that offer high headroom, copious clean gain, low noise, and vanishingly low distortion — perfect for tracking drums, guitars, vocals, and more. Want to take the bass or keys direct? Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic makes it convenient with its two extended-headroom rear-panel instrument inputs. Onboard ADAT I/O gives you tremendous flexibility: the outputs offer easy connection to any interface or digital system fitted with ADAT optical inputs; inputs let you cascade another Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic or any other ADAT-output-equipped preamp such as the Scarlett OctoPre, for additional expansion capabilities. The analog line outputs, fed directly from the mic inputs (or ADAT inputs), are perfect for feeding an analog console while recording with the digital outputs.
For over 25 years, Focusrite's award-winning pres have proven their mettle in pro studios around the world. Focusrite ports their considerable design savvy into the transparent, low-noise, low-distortion preamps in the Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic. This is the same technology found in Focusrite's flagship products, giving you gobs of available headroom to accommodate your dynamic, condenser, and ribbon mics on any source. Of course, you also get phantom power for mics that require it.
The Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic is fitted with a soft-knee VCA compressor on each channel — a simple one-knob solution for conveniently controlling all your input signal dynamics. The compressors' normal Transparent mode gives you subtle dynamics control; pressing the More button doubles the ratio for stronger compression.
Music Experience engineers know that conversion is key to superior digital audio, and every Scarlett unit features Focusrite's class-leading 24-bit/192kHz conversion. Offering up to 119dB of dynamic range, the Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic is the easy, clean way to expand your studio I/O.
Building on the features of the Scarlett OctoPre, Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic brings you the ultimate Scarlett expansion with eight Scarlett 2nd Generation mic preamps with analogue compression on every input channel providing a musical, soft-knee style of compression for more subtle control of dynamics. The "More" button then allows you to double the ratio for more aggressive compression effects. Eight channels of Focusrite precision A-D will capture your performance with clarity, honesty and transparency and providing you have an ADAT output on your interface, eight channels of D-A get it back out again via the balanced line outputs. With dual ADAT optical inputs and outputs, it's ideal for expanding your studio's I/O.

Two high-headroom instrument inputs will handle high output guitar pickups. Don't forget to engage a bit of compression, great for controlling the dynamics of electric basses and guitars.
Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic is ideal for expanding any high quality, multi-channel recording system. With its high-headroom mic, line and dual instrument inputs, and analogue compression on every channel, it's ideal for tracking drums as well guitars, keyboards, vocals - and more.
Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic's eight analogue outputs can be sourced either directly from the mic preamps for live use, or via the ADAT inputs to give you eight more analogue outputs channels from your DAW.
ADAT is a simple and easy way of bringing extra channels of I/O to your system via optical cable. One light-pipe can carry up to eight channels of audio. Just connect the ADAT output on the OctoPre to the ADAT input on your interface, set your sample rate and clock source and you're ready to go. ADAT I/O is available on many Focusrite and third-party interfaces.
