Compact and comfortable body is fun and easy to play

Solidbody players sometimes shy away from semi-hollowbody guitars due to the size, even though they want the tone. The Ibanez AS63 crosses that barrier with a smaller body that is comfortable to solidbody players but is still a true semi-hollowbody guitar. Using the reliable sapele body and nyatoh neck combination, the AS63 gives you the semi-hollow sound you want. No more having to get used to oversized and uncomfortable guitars for great tone. The Ibanez AS63 is the perfect culmination of tone and size.

    Humbuckers deliver smooth, organic tone

Ibanez designed the AS63's Infinity R pickups to give you warm and well-balanced tone. They really bring out the depth and tonal complexity in the AS63's all-sapele body. At the same time, Infinity R pickups do an amazing job suppressing noise and reducing the feedback that tends to plague semi-hollowbody guitars.

All of the fat semi-hollow tones you love

Semi-hollowbody guitars are used in most genres of music. The AS63 is great for jazz, rockabilly, and many other styles of music. Don't forget that this style of electric guitar has also been used in rock 'n' roll, fusion, and even country bands. Get the Ibanez AS63, and start playing with big, fat, semi-hollowbody tone today.

    Ibanez: a brief history

Ibanez began its life in 1908 as the Hoshino Gakki company in Nagoya, Japan. However, the company didn’t get into the guitar business until 1929, when they started importing Salvador Ibanez guitars from Spain. In 1935, Hoshino Gakki began building Spanish acoustic guitars under the Ibanez Salvador name, which was later shortened to Ibanez. Although Ibanez began manufacturing electric guitars in 1957, the company was relatively unknown in the West until the 1960s, when they started producing guitars based on American designs. By the late 1970s, Ibanez had stopped producing derivative guitars and had begun manufacturing the original designs that the company is now known for. Ibanez is also famous for their effects pedals (most notably the Tube Screamer) and guitar amplifiers.

    What Ibanez Says...

Ibanez introduced Artcore in 2002 and has been the hollow-body guitar of choice for musicians for the last 10 years. The Artcore's combination of quality workmanship and affordability has created legions of fans from diverse genres as blues, country, rock and jazz. Musicians can find the purity of an old school style jazz-box to a hybrid semi-hollow rocker. Artcore is highly respected for its tone, sustain and the way they hold their tuning and how the series continues to push the boundaries of guitar building.
