Originally introduced as part of the S2 series, the PRS SE Mira is a roadworthy axe that will blow you away with its effortless playability and noteworthy tone. The SE Mira produces some serious sustain and resonance, thanks to a lightweight mahogany body and set-in mahogany neck. It's loaded with a pair of PRS-designed 85/15 "S" humbucking pickups that are equipped with coil-splitting abilities. With the available tonal versatility, you can use this axe for a hard-rock gig on Friday and a sensitive alternative show on Saturday. The PRS SE Mira doesn't just sound and look great — it's built to strict standards to ensure your new guitar will last a lifetime.
The standout tone of the PRS SE Mira comes from a pair of PRS-designed 85/15 "S" humbuckers. Wound to emulate the unique tone of the Paul's '85 pickups, the 85/15 "S" pickups produce a transparent tone that breaks up well in high-gain situations. When you dial the volume back, they clean up and produce a sweet, balanced tone that's ideal for indie rockers. Want a little more bite on the high end? Instead of picking up a different guitar for a single-coil sound, the Mira's master tone control is a push-pull pot for coil splitting.
While the SE Mira might seem to have a tame body shape, it's anything but. It has an asymmetrical beveled body that's more pronounced on the bass side of the instrument. This simple bevel softens the contact point between your forearm and the body of the guitar to increase comfort and reduce playing fatigue. Comfort isn't limited to your picking hand! The SE Mira has a mahogany neck with a PRS wide-thin profile. You'll notice that it fills your hand nicely and easily accommodates thumb-over players. The Mira has a contoured lower cutaway that gives your hand more room and better access to the higher frets.
The SE Starla, like all PRS guitars, is designed for top-notch performance right out of the case. Since 2001, the SE Series has provided excellent tone and playability at an incredibly affordable price point. Constructed from quality tonewoods and components, these instruments carry on a commitment to quality that's been the brand's hallmark since Paul Reed Smith started handbuilding guitars for some of the most elite players in the world.
With instant comfort and playability and an explosive, captivating voice, the SE Mira is a guitar you won’t want to put down. Its all-mahogany body and 85/15 “S” pickups combine to create a balanced, vintage tone that can be overdriven into well-rounded rock tones without sacrificing punch and clarity. The push/pull tone control adds to the SE Mira’s versatility. Other features include a 22-fret wide thin mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard and PRS trademark bird inlays and an adjustable stoptail bridge. The SE Mira is a workhorse guitar, comfortable, and fun to play.
