The result6 provides an affordable entree to world-class PMC monitoring and the massive benefits of ATL technology, PMC’s proprietary bass-loading system at the heart of all their designs. The 2-way active result6 reference monitor gives you all the qualities that made PMC monitor speakers standard equipment in top studios worldwide: unwavering accuracy, exceptionally high resolution, stunning detail, flat extended bass, consistent tonal balance regardless of listening level, and ultra-wide dispersion. The result6 is an elegantly simple compact powered nearfield that lets you work faster and achieve superior results.
The result6 features D-Fins, PMC’s distinctive, proprietary finned HF driver surround that delivers huge sonic benefits by broadening the stereo “sweet spot,” resulting in superior off-axis response over a wider listening area. D-Fins also eliminate cabinet edge diffraction, ensuring that high-frequency sounds remain clear and unsmeared. This means the sound from your monitors remains accurate as you change your listening position, allowing you to work more naturally without being pinned down to a narrow sweet spot.
Since their first professional studio main monitor design was embraced by the music, broadcast, and post-production industries in the early 1990s, PMC has become famous for their proprietary Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) technology. A transmission line is a method of loading a low-frequency speaker in a cabinet so that undesirable frequencies radiating from the rear of the driver are absorbed, allowing only the lowest frequencies to pass. These emerge from a front-baffle vent, which effectively acts as an auxiliary LF driver that extends bass response while absorbing undesirable low frequencies that contribute to harmonic distortion, clouding the upper bass and midrange. One of the keys to PMC speakers’ natural, highly detailed sound, ATL technology delivers deeper bass and higher output from smaller cabinets, while providing rich, full sound at any listening level. And because ATL bass extension doesn’t vary with volume levels, the low end is well defined and always in balance, even when listening quietly.
PMC’s ATL technology moves under-pressure air at high speeds, so reducing drag and turbulence is important for lowering resistance, increasing efficiency, and eliminating air noise. PMC’s Laminair vent accomplishes this using aerodynamic principles borrowed from high-performance engineering for F1 and Le Mans race cars, creating a smooth laminar airflow at the transmission line outlet. The combination of ATL and Laminair technology results in superior bass timing and an ultra-wide dynamic range, which helps PMC loudspeakers deliver a supremely natural sound and perform with complete composure at any volume.
Engineers at Music Experience know that there’s no substitute for midrange clarity in a monitor. This is the heart of your mix, and it remains relevant regardless of playback system. That’s why you can spend hours struggling to achieve a perfect balance and end up with nothing but frustration, listening fatigue — and a mix that doesn’t “translate.” In addition to improving bass response, PMC’s ATL and Laminair also eliminate troublesome frequencies and port noise that can mask the midrange in other types of 2-way designs. As a result, you’ll find it’s easier to place, for instance, vocals and solo instruments in a mix, and have that balance translate to the world outside your studio.
This active two-way reference monitor offers all the attributes for which PMC is world-renowned: high resolution and detail, accurate, extended bass, consistent tonal balance & wide dispersion.
The result6 provides an introduction to PMC and the huge benefits of ATL™ technology, the proprietary bass-loading system at the heart of all our designs. This active two-way reference monitor offers all the attributes for which PMC is world-renowned: high resolution and detail, accurate, extended bass, consistent tonal balance at all levels, and wide dispersion and sweet spot. With an emphasis on elegant simplicity, this is a compact nearfield that allows you to work faster and more confidently.
There are no overly complex DSP-based user options or room profiles; instead, the result6 achieves its characteristically neutral, dependable PMC reference sound solely on the strength of its engineering. Honed to the fundamentals of our design philosophy, it’s devoted to getting you the best sounding results in the shortest possible time.
The distinctive, finned HF driver surround on the result6 are known as D-Fins and they deliver major sonic benefits by widening the stereo sweet spot . The result is an excellent off axis response over a wider area. The D-Fins also eradicate the cabinet edge effects, ensuring high-frequency sound remains razor-sharp and unsmeared.
You can change your listening position as you work without adversely affecting what you hear, and that the frequency response remains flat and natural-sounding.
With twin low-distortion, (HF 65W, LF 100W) amps, ATL™ bass loading and a plethora major innovations the result6 lets you achieve exactly what you need, quicker.
ATL uses energy generated by the bass unit in a much more intelligent, efficient way than speaker designs based on ported or sealed boxes.
