What You Need to Know

Like the classic 76-style compressors, the WA76 includes all the essential controls for a complete professional dynamics-processing experience.

Output Control: Adjusts the amount of makeup gain applied to the outgoing signal, from 54 dB down to 0 dB. Turning clockwise increases level—monitor your DAW or interface to avoid clipping.

Input Control: Sets the signal level entering the WA76 and effectively determines the compression threshold. Higher input levels result in more compression or limiting, displayed on a 54 dB to 0 dB scale.

Attack & Release: Attack determines how quickly the compressor begins compressing once the signal crosses the threshold. Release determines how quickly it stops compressing and returns to normal operation.

Ratio Buttons: Select the compression ratio. For example, at 4:1, the input must exceed the threshold by 4 dB for the output to increase by 1 dB. Higher ratios — such as 12:1 or 20:1 — result in heavier gain reduction and more aggressive dynamic control.
