Neumann KH 310 3-Way Active Studio Monitor at a Glance
- Specially-designed waveguide provides a wider, more consistent sweet spot
- Sealed cabinet design delivers accurate, controlled low-frequency performance
- Acoustic controls allow fine-tuning to suit your room and placement
Wide Sweet Spot with MMD Waveguide
Neumann developed a Mathematically Modelled Dispersion (MMD) waveguide specifically for the KH 310, delivering smoother off-axis response and a wider sweet spot. This results in greater consistency and accuracy as you move around your listening position. The improved off-axis behavior also allows acoustic treatment to work more effectively, as reflected sound remains well-balanced.
Sealed Cabinet for Exceptional Low-Frequency Performance
The KH 310’s sealed cabinet design eliminates standing-wave resonances, ensuring accurate and controlled low-frequency reproduction. Combined with its true 3-way architecture, this design provides superb transient response and enhanced control over mix dynamics, giving you rock-solid bass without coloration.
Room-Adaptive Acoustic Controls
Four-position acoustic controls for low, mid, and high frequencies allow the KH 310 to be easily tailored to different room acoustics or personal preferences. Whether mixing in a treated control room or a more challenging environment, these controls make it simple to achieve a balanced, reliable monitoring reference.
What Neumann says...
The Neumann KH 310 is a high-resolution, tri-amplified nearfield monitor engineered for uncompromising accuracy, with particular emphasis on midrange precision and a controlled, dry bass character. Its sealed cabinet design delivers exceptionally fast transient response, making it an ideal reference for critical professional work.
Key Performance Highlights
- High-resolution tri-amplified nearfield monitor design
- Exceptionally fast transient response in its class
- Tremendous bass capability extending down to 34 Hz
- Enhanced midrange precision via a specially designed midrange driver
- Expandable stereo system with KH 750 DSP subwoofer for room alignment and control
Expanded Midrange Precision & Dry Bass Response
Thanks to its dedicated midrange driver, the compact KH 310 excels in reproducing speech, vocals, guitars, and other midrange-focused instruments with outstanding clarity. Its closed cabinet design ensures extremely fast impulse response, while low harmonic distortion guarantees a neutral and reliable reference sound that meets the highest professional standards.
Tri-Amplified Design with Precision Dispersion
The KH 310 is a true three-way, tri-amplified monitor powered by thermally protected Class AB amplifiers delivering 210 W for the woofer and 2 × 90 W for the midrange and tweeter. Neumann’s Mathematically Modelled Dispersion™ (MMD™) waveguide ensures precise horizontal sound distribution and controlled vertical dispersion, minimizing reflections from desks and consoles while maintaining flexibility in the listening position.
Designed for the Professional Working Environment
Optimized for nearfield applications, the KH 310 is widely used in project studios, music production, broadcast, and post-production environments for recording, mixing, and mastering. Its controlled dispersion, adaptable acoustic settings, and neutral tonal balance make it a trusted reference close to professional ears. A digital-input “D” version is also available.
Powerful, Controlled Bass with Exceptional Impulse Fidelity
With a robust switched-mode power supply and tri-channel amplification, the KH 310 delivers sound pressure levels of up to 116.3 dB while maintaining a neutral, high-resolution response across the full frequency spectrum. Bass extension reaches an impressive 34 Hz, and the sealed enclosure minimizes group delay, ensuring precise timing and accurate transient reproduction throughout nearly the entire frequency range.
Advanced Driver Technology
Neumann’s in-house developed drivers are optimized using advanced modeling techniques to minimize harmonic and intermodulation distortion. An ultralight fabric dome midrange driver captures critical mid frequencies with exceptional speed and clarity, while a specially developed alloy fabric dome tweeter ensures distortion-free high-frequency reproduction. The long-throw composite sandwich woofer delivers deep, controlled bass with extremely low distortion, even at high sound pressure levels.
The Perfect System Extension: KH 750 DSP
When paired with the KH 750 DSP subwoofer, the KH 310 benefits from advanced system integration tools such as Neumann’s MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment and the Neumann.Control iPad® app. These tools enable precise room correction, guided alignment, and flexible system control, creating an optimized monitoring environment tailored to your room.
The Neumann Philosophy
Developed according to Neumann’s uncompromising design philosophy, every component and contour of the KH 310 serves a precise acoustic purpose. From cabinet curvatures that reduce diffraction to pistonic driver behavior that minimizes distortion at high levels, hundreds of engineering decisions combine to produce an exceptionally pure, neutral sound. Each KH 310 is individually aligned during final testing, ensuring consistent performance and precise pair matching for professional stereo monitoring.
