Dual-Mag pickups deliver a new kind of spank 'n' sparkle

The Dual-Mag II Strat is powered by a trio of hand-wound Dual-Mag II single-coil pickups. As the name suggests, these pickups use two types of magnets. The bass side of the pickup utilizes Alnico V magnets for a clear, strong punch. The treble strings use Alnico II magnets to temper overly bright frequencies. The result is a refined tone with impeccable balance and consistent volume. What’s more, Dual-Mag II pickups have extra turns of wire for hotter output and are calibrated from bridge to neck. When you plug the Dual-Mag II Stratocaster in, it will pump out a balanced tone with plenty of attitude.

Tone Saver treble bleed circuit and Blender knob

The limited-edition Fender Custom Shop Dual-Mag II Strat also features custom wiring with Fender's Tone Saver treble bleed circuit, so you can smoothly roll off highs without reducing gain or encountering potentiometer hot spots. It's also the perfect way to get the best out of the bridge position without excessive harshness. And this Strat also features a Blender circuit on the second tone knob. It allows you to blend in the bridge pickup with the neck pickup, or vice versa. It will also blend in the unused pickup in positions 2 and 4 — Strat players everywhere love the added sonic range the Blender circuit offers.

The latest incarnation of the Dual-Mag Stratocaster® is here. Like their predecessors, Dual-Mag II Strat pickups feature well-balanced tone, shimmering clear highs and balanced rich lows; comprising alnico 5 magnets from low E through G with a “low G” magnet (which provides a nice transition from wound to plain strings). The alnico 5 beneath the G makes that string “sing” just right. B&E magnets are the same as Dual-Mag 1 (beveled alnico 2—slightly taller than vintage). Dual-Mag II also has extra turns of wire, so they’re hotter overall and are calibrated from bridge to neck. The Dual-Mag II Strat features a roasted alder body with a Relic® lacquer finish. A roasted rift-sawn maple neck has a flat-lam rosewood fingerboard, ’60-style oval “C” back-shape, 9.5” fingerboard radius and 21 Jumbo frets. Dual-Mag II pickups feature five-way switching and Strat ½ blender with tone saver treble bleed wiring, all mounted on a three-ply black pickguard.
