Rich, vibrant tone

Fender equips the Vintera '60s Jazzmaster with a pair of Vintage-Style '60s single-coil pickups for that iconic Jazzmaster tone beloved by so many guitarists at Music Experience. Fender voiced these pickups to respond to your playing like the originals. The smooth and velvety sound of the neck pickup is nicely balanced by the edgy, bright bridge pickup. You'll be amazed at the balance of rich lows, detailed mids, and sparkling highs, especially with both pickups engaged. It's one of the reasons you'll hear Jazzmasters in so many instrumental hits from the '60s — the tone is rich, balanced, and defined, the perfect foundation for many different musical styles.

Eminently playable mid-'60s "C" neck with medium-jumbo frets

The Fender Vintera '60s Jazzmaster is a treat to play, largely because of its vintage-style neck profile. This is a pleasantly stout neck, and its increased mass yields an incredibly natural feel, as well as excellent sustain. And wait until you experience the fast-playing pau ferro fretboard with medium-jumbo frets — bending notes and playing chords high on the neck have never been easier.

    The Vintera Series — value-priced, vintage-styled Fenders

The Vintera Series offers Fender’s most popular models in a myriad of shapes and sizes. These instruments are ideal for players who dig vintage-style Fenders, but feel that American Original and Custom Shop guitars are out of their reach. Vintera Series instruments are available in both Vintage and Modified configurations: Vintage models span the ’50s to the ’70s, with period-correct specifications for each era, while Modified models look like vintage instruments but include modern updates that contemporary guitarists will appreciate. All Vintera Series guitars and basses boast Tim Shaw–designed pickups and are available in a wide array of vintage-inspired colors. The guitarists here at Music Experience have found the Vintera Series to be the perfect introduction to Fender’s iconic lineup of legendary instruments.

    What Fender Says...

For players who want the style and sound of Fender’s golden era, we created the Vintera ‘60s Jazzmaster. Equipped with the coveted features that defined the decade—including period-accurate neck profile and playing feel, along with re-voiced pickups—this guitar has all of the warm, smooth sound that made the Jazzmaster a legend. For authentic, vintage-style tone we re-voiced the pair of wide single-coil Jazzmaster pickups to behave more like the originals. The warm, smooth-sounding neck pickup is balanced by the bright, cutting bridge pickup. The “Mid '60s C”-shaped neck has a classy painted headstock, along with a 7.25”-radius maple fingerboard with 21 vintage-style frets for classic feel. A vintage-style Jazzmaster floating tremolo and vintage-style tuning machines provide original-era aesthetics, rock-solid performance and tuning stability. Other features include the classic lead/rhythm circuit, chrome hardware and 4-bolt neck plate. Includes a deluxe gig bag.

    Alder Body

A classic Fender tone wood, alder’s sound is balanced with equal doses of lows, mids and highs.

    "Mid '60s C" Neck Profile

Remarkably comfortable, the "Mid '60s C"-shaped neck profile is sculpted for a vintage-style playing feel—thinner at the first fret, thicker at the twelfth.

    Revoiced 60s Jazzmaster Pickups

We revoiced the pickups to be more 60s-accurate. They’re full of the warm, rich tone that made Fender instruments famous.

    Period-Accurate Fingerboard

Hosting 21 vintage-style frets, the 7.25”-radius fingerboard provides the comfortable playing feel of a vintage instrument. The matching painted headstock is a nice touch, too.

    Vintage-Style Tremolo

One of our most innovative designs, this tremolo offers the sound and feel of a vintage tremolo—and easy access to vibrato sounds.

    Lead/Rhythm Circuit

This circuit makes it easy to dial in a preset rhythm or lead sound and switch between the two on the fly—great for live performances.
