The Ibanez Artcore AM53 electric guitar puts the warmth and airy tone of a semi-hollowbody electric guitar into compact dimensions and an even more compact price. The guitar is crafted with a sapele top, back, and sides, which sing with plenty of warmth and punch, while the mahogany neck adds unmistakable midrange warmth. The guitar's tight body dimensions make it extremely comfortable to play and deliver a bit more of a focused tone. All the while, a pair of Infinity humbuckers can take your tone from clean to bluesy crunch.
The size of some semi-hollowbody electric guitars can be a bit of a stumbling block for some players. Not so with the Ibanez AM53. Its smaller body is comfortable to solidbody players, while still holding true to what makes semi-hollowbody guitars sing with such an identifiable sound. Using a sapele body and mahogany neck combination, the AM53 offers plenty of warmth to go with its clear snappy attack. With the Ibanez AM53, you're sure to appreciate the perfect culmination of tone and size.
Ibanez designed the Artcore AM53's Infinity pickups to give you warm and well-balanced tone. They really bring out the depth and tonal complexity in the AM53's all-sapele body. At the same time, Infinity humbucking pickups do an amazing job suppressing noise and reducing the feedback that tends to plague semi-hollowbody guitars. We hear a lot of guitars that come through Music Experience, and we can't believe how great these pickups sound for such an affordable instrument.
Semi-hollowbody guitars are used in most genres of music. The Ibanez Artcore AM53 is great for jazz, rockabilly, and many other styles of music. Don't forget that hollowbodies have also been used in rock 'n' roll, fusion, and even country bands. Get the Ibanez Artcore AM53, and start playing with big, fat hollowbody tone today.
Ibanez began its life in 1908 as the Hoshino Gakki company in Nagoya, Japan. However, the company didn’t get into the guitar business until 1929, when they started importing Salvador Ibanez guitars from Spain. In 1935, Hoshino Gakki began building Spanish acoustic guitars under the Ibanez Salvador name, which was later shortened to Ibanez. Although Ibanez began manufacturing electric guitars in 1957, the company was relatively unknown in the West until the 1960s, when they started producing guitars based on American designs. By the late 1970s, Ibanez had stopped producing derivative guitars and had begun manufacturing the original designs that the company is now known for. Ibanez is also famous for their effects pedals (most notably the Tube Screamer) and guitar amplifiers.
The AM was an original Ibanez design in the early ''80s. The AM is a natural progression of this design, though smaller in size. This guitar provides infinite playing comfort for smaller players, while holding on to the same light body and abundant sustain that has made the Artcore series so popular.
Ibanez introduced Artcore in 2002 and has been the hollow-body guitar of choice for musicians for the last 10 years. The Artcore's combination of quality workmanship and affordability has created legions of fans from diverse genres as blues, country, rock and jazz. Musicians can find the purity of an old school style jazz-box to a hybrid semi-hollow rocker. Artcore is highly respected for its tone, sustain and the way they hold their tuning and how the series continues to push the boundaries of guitar building.
