With the Carbon Copy Deluxe, MXR took their popular analog delay pedal and added a cluster of oft-requested features. First of all, the Deluxe extends its delay time up to 1.2s, and it maximizes every millisecond with tap tempo and a tap division feature. You can call up both the original Carbon Copy's darker tone or the vibrant articulation of the Bright version, and the Mod function's internal controls have been conveniently relocated to the top of the pedal. You also get an expression jack, programmable presets, and more. This is truly the ultimate Carbon Copy!

1.2 seconds of infinitely flexible delay

The original Carbon Copy's 600ms of delay was impressive, but some guitarists clamored for more. With up to 1.2s of delay, the Carbon Copy Deluxe delivers. But that's not all — tap tempo functionality makes synchronizing the Deluxe to a song's tempo effortless. You also get a tap division feature with four different subdivisions: dotted 8th, 8th, triplet, and 16th, along with an easy-to-read status display. The Deluxe provides more control over the rhythm of your Carbon Copy delay signal than ever.

Two popular flavors of analog goodness

The original MXR Carbon Copy delay has become legendary, thanks to the dark, chewy wash provided by its bucket brigade design. Other guitarists prefer the increased articulation of the Carbon Copy Bright pedal, which provides the same great analog sound — just brighter. The Deluxe lets you call up either flavor with the push of a button. Many guitarists here at Music Experience have both versions of the Carbon Copy on their pedalboards. Now they can replace them with one feature-packed pedal!

All the power of the original

Music Experience guitarists are thrilled to see that the Carbon Copy Bright delay has kept all the qualities that made the original so beloved. The same Bucket Brigade technology powers the Bright for 600ms of delay time. The Mod button adds the sound of an old tape delay's pitch modulation for adding a shimmering beauty to your tone that can be adjusted with internal controls. And true-bypass switching ensures the pedal won't color your guitar's natural tone when switched off.

Add shimmering beauty to your tone

The Carbon Copy Deluxe's Mod button emulates the sound of an old tape delay's pitch modulation, adding a shimmering beauty to your tone. Earlier models required you to crack open your pedal to tweak the modulation. Needless to say, these trimpots were a pain to access (many guitarists never even bothered). The Deluxe puts the modulation's Speed and Width controls conveniently on top of the pedal. Shaping your Carbon Copy's chorusing is now a piece of cake!

        What MXR Says...

The Carbon Copy Deluxe Analog Delay adds a bevy of new features to fine-tune the warm, organic sound that has made the original the bestselling analog delay in the world. With extended delay time—now up to 1.2s—and tap tempo functionality, you now have more control over your Carbon Copy repeats than ever. The Tap Division feature, with an easy-to-read status display, gives you four different subdivisions: dotted 8ths, 8ths, triplets, and 16ths. On the tonal side, the Carbon Copy Deluxe Analog Delay lets you choose between the original’s dark, mellow wash and the vibrant articulation of the Bright version with the push of a switch. To add further character and texture to your repeats, just hit the Mod switch and use the Speed and Width controls to shape the chorusing to your taste. Additional features include an expression jack for external control of various functions, programmable presets, and more. Inside the pedal is a Line Level/Instrument Level switch—which allows the pedal to be used either in front of the amp or in the FX loop—and a Dry Kill switch for a “wet only” effect that’s perfect for studio recording. With true bypass switching, 9-volt battery operation, and MXR’s famously rugged construction, the Carbon Copy Deluxe Analog Delay is a must-have for delay aficionados.
