With analog, ADAT, AES, S/PDIF, and USB 2 connectivity, the Fireface UFX II integrates seamlessly into virtually any production setup.
Four pad-free microphone preamps provide up to +18 dBu maximum input level and 75 dB of gain, ensuring outstanding performance across a wide range of recording scenarios. Low-impedance, high-power headphone outputs deliver superior monitoring, while the built-in DURec port allows direct recording to a USB thumb drive for added flexibility.
The Fireface UFX II is equipped to handle virtually any audio task, thanks to its expansive connectivity. It supports up to 60 channels of I/O, including 12 analog channels, 16 channels of ADAT, and two channels of AES. Four redesigned, pad-free microphone preamps deliver high headroom and substantial gain, while the Hi-Power headphone outputs provide up to +19 dBu of output level to comfortably drive any headphones.
DURec functionality enables direct USB recording and playback of up to 60 channels, making the Fireface UFX II a versatile solution for studio, live, and remote recording applications.
The front-panel DURec port allows the Fireface UFX II to record and play back up to 60 channels of audio directly to and from an external USB storage device. RME’s second-generation hardware ensures improved reliability and performance, even with slower or multi-partitioned flash drives.
An internal real-time clock enables the creation of time-stamped audio files, while advanced playback functions provide additional flexibility for live and studio use.
RME’s TotalMix FX software mixer gives you complete control over all inputs, outputs, and mix levels. Unlimited routing allows signals to be split and distributed to multiple outputs simultaneously, making it easy to manage complex recording and monitoring setups.
TotalMix FX includes onboard EQ, dynamics, reverb, and delay for creating latency-free monitor mixes. Peak and RMS metering ensure precise gain staging across large track counts, while the TotalMix FX iPad app adds full remote control of the hardware mixer and DSP effects, allowing mixes to be created, stored, and recalled directly from an iPad.
The optional ARC USB remote control connects via USB and offers hands-on control of the Fireface UFX II through TotalMix FX. Designed for desktop use, it features 15 freely assignable illuminated buttons, a rotary encoder, and a footswitch input.
ARC USB operates as a true plug-and-play device. Once connected, TotalMix FX automatically detects the controller, enabling immediate and intuitive control of the interface.
The Fireface UFX II includes a premium software bundle designed to enhance creativity and productivity. This bundle features Scuffham S-Gear guitar amp simulation, Brainworx bx_opto optical-style compression, and bx_masterdesk for analog-style mastering.
Additional included software consists of trial versions of Pianoteq 6 by Modartt, Blue 3 Organ by GG Audio, a 14-day full version of Gig Performer, and a three-month subscription to Antares Auto-Tune Unlimited.
The Fireface UFX II is RME’s premium flagship USB audio interface, designed to transfer analog and digital audio directly to a computer from virtually any source. Equipped with advanced technologies such as SteadyClock FS, improved AD/DA conversion, DC-coupled analog outputs, professional DSP effects, and an industry-leading mixing and monitoring engine, it represents the pinnacle of computer-based audio interfaces.
With exceptional flexibility and broad compatibility, the Fireface UFX II is trusted by audio professionals in high-end home studios and commercial production environments alike. Features such as DURec (Direct USB Recording) and RME’s renowned low-latency hardware and driver design ensure stable, reliable performance across all recording, mixing, and monitoring applications.
The Fireface UFX II supports up to 60 audio channels, with 30 inputs and 30 outputs, and accommodates sample rates up to 192 kHz. Standard connectivity includes analog, ADAT, AES, S/PDIF, and USB 2, allowing the interface to integrate seamlessly into a wide variety of studio configurations.
High-quality AD/DA converters, optimized analog I/O circuitry, and improved SNR and THD specifications deliver pristine, transparent audio. A newly designed pad-free microphone circuit provides up to +18 dBu maximum input level and a wide 75 dB gain range, ensuring reliable operation even in the most demanding recording environments.
Low-impedance, high-power headphone outputs with a 2-ohm output impedance and up to +19 dBu maximum output level provide ample volume and clarity for any headphones, whether high or low impedance.
Since 2001, TotalMix has provided unlimited routing and mixing across RME audio interfaces. TotalMix FX allows the creation of independent submixes for every output channel and includes a complete DSP effects system with EQ, dynamics, reverb, and delay, enabling multiple latency-free monitor mixes and eliminating the need for an external mixer.
All line-level outputs on the Fireface UFX II are fully DC-coupled, making it ideal for modular synthesizer environments. This allows control voltages and gate signals to be sent directly to Eurorack, Moog, MOTM, and other compatible synthesizer formats and studio hardware.
TotalMix FX for iPad™ provides full remote control over the Fireface UFX II’s hardware mixer and DSP effects when operating in Class Compliant mode. Users can create, store, and recall complete mixes directly from the iPad for flexible control in studio or live environments.
The included DigiCheck software offers professional tools for metering, testing, measuring, and analyzing digital audio streams, adding powerful diagnostic and monitoring capabilities to the Fireface UFX II.
SteadyClock FS ensures outstanding clock performance across all modes, delivering ultra-low jitter and high jitter immunity for accurate monitoring and superior analog conversion.
The optional ARC USB remote controller provides hands-on control of TotalMix FX via USB, while DURec enables direct, DSP-based recording of all inputs and outputs to USB storage devices up to 2 TB. This allows the Fireface UFX II to function as a standalone field recorder and multichannel playback device for live recording, rehearsals, and virtual sound checks without a computer.
