Shotgun microphones are a staple in broadcast and film production, but they’re equally capable in studio and live concert settings. The sE6160 from sE Electronics features a gold-sputtered small-diaphragm true condenser capsule with a supercardioid polar pattern, providing excellent off-axis rejection. Its full 20Hz–20kHz frequency range captures every detail, while a robust 147dB max SPL, 144dB dynamic range, and switchable -10dB/-20dB attenuation pad handle even loud sources with ease. With an 81dB signal-to-noise ratio and a switchable 80Hz/160Hz low-cut filter (-6dB per octave), the sE6160 ensures a clean, noise-free signal. Its die-cast, all-metal construction makes it rugged enough for challenging environments, and it comes equipped with multiple accessories including a clip, windscreen, and carrying case.
Each sE6160 capsule is handcrafted and meticulously tuned in-house at sE Electronics, resulting in exceptional clarity, precision, and consistency across microphones. Its full frequency response, supercardioid polar pattern, and natural “in the room” sound make it ideal for audience miking at concerts and theater, podcasting, studio isolation, as well as standard broadcast and location sound recording.
The sE6160’s die-cast all-metal housing efficiently rejects electrical interference, delivering a pristine audio signal. Despite its durable metal body, it remains lightweight compared to similar microphones, making it easy to use on boom poles. The rugged, professional finish ensures it looks and performs exceptionally well for years of demanding use.
The sE6160 from sE Electronics delivers astonishing results, no matter where you aim it. Designed for live sound, broadcast, and studio applications, this shotgun microphone provides crystal-clear audio even in challenging environments, making it ideal for capturing dialogue, IEM crowd noise, or spot-miking orchestras and hard-to-reach instruments.
The sE6160 features a gold-sputtered small-diaphragm condenser capsule handcrafted in-house for crystal-clear, uncolored sound, ensuring precise reproduction and consistent performance from mic to mic.
The dual-stage attenuation switch allows reducing the microphone's signal by 10 or 20 dB, preventing overload from loud sources. When set to the center position, the switch has no effect on the microphone output.
The low-cut switch allows adjustment of bass response, rolling off low frequencies at 80 or 160 Hz. Center position leaves the output unaffected, providing precise control over sound in any recording or live environment.
